Health Warranty

shuswaplabradoodles@gmail.com

Breeder’s Responsibility

  1. The Breeder guarantees the puppy is in good health at the time of delivery. The Buyer has 3 days to take the puppy into a veterinarian for an examination. If the puppy is found to be of poor health, the Buyer has the option of returning the puppy to the Breeder for a full refund or keeping the puppy and the Breeder will reimburse for all veterinary costs, up to the purchase price, related to the pre-existing condition.

  2. The Breeder provides a warranty for 2 years after the date of birth against any serious genetic disorder that affects the dog’s quality of life. Should a serious genetic disorder be discovered, the Breeder will offer a replacement puppy from the next available litter or refund the veterinary costs up to the original purchase price (breeders choice). Your puppy does not need to be returned to us. All veterinary records must be supplied to the Breeder. In the case of HD the buyer must provide documentation of PennHIP or OFA within 6 months of this dog reaching 2 years of age. In the case of cataracts or PRA the Buyer must provide documentation from a veterinary opthamologist. (This does not include maladies that are common with living creatures such as ear infections, environmental or food allergies, misaligned teeth or any cosmetic dental procedure, gastro intestinal etc. This heath warranty is for severe or life-threatening diseases.)

  3. The Breeder reserves the right, at the Breeder’s expense, to have the puppy/dog checked by a veterinarian of the Breeder’s choice before offering a replacement puppy or refund.

Buyer’s Responsibility

  1. The Buyer will provide the puppy/dog a caring and loving home.

  2. The Buyer will take the dog to a veterinarian for an annual checkup, keep current on all vaccinations including rabies, and all preventative treatment recommended by the veterinarian will be followed. Keep all records up to date for procedures and veterinarian visits. ALL Oral Tick Medication voids this Health Warrant, use a topical or natural spray.

  3. The Buyer will take the puppy to either group or private training classes by the time the dog is five months of age. Breeder is not responsible for any temperament issues that arise after the puppy leaves our premises. No refund or replacement puppy will be given due to temperament issues. Buyer takes full responsibility for temperament by doing proper socializing and continued dog obedience classes until the puppy is an adult dog with appropriate behaviour.

  4. The Buyer will feed the puppy/dog only a premium quality dog food. The Breeder recommends Canadian made TLC, Now!, Canadian Naturals, Horizon, Go!. If feeding a RAW diet, it must be a Pre-prepared RAW diet, I recommend Puppy Love Freeze Dried or Smack. Consult your local pet store or veterinarian for assistance to ensure the diet is a balanced diet and safe for puppies’ proper development of bones and structure.

  5. The Buyer will not allow the puppy/dog to become overweight or allow repetitive, rigorous exercise during the puppy’s first year of development.

  6. The Buyer will contact the Breeder immediately if the Buyer can no longer look after the dog at ANY point during the dog’s life. If puppy is returned prior to 4 months of age Breeder will refund ½ purchase price. After the age of 4 months old Breeder will refund within their discretion.

  7. The puppy/dog is only guaranteed to the original purchaser. If the puppy/dog has been sold, the health guarantee becomes void.

I have read and agree to the terms and conditions set out above.
